UFC President Dana White now says Brock Lesnar is not returning

It was a little over a week ago when UFC President Dana White declared that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s return to the octagon was “definitely a possibility.”

After his win over Frank Mir at last night’s UFC 169 event, former Strikeforce champion, Alistair Overeem, took the time to address the rumors of Lesnar’s potential return, stating the following:

“I heard word that Brock Lesnar is coming back to the UFC,” Overeem said in his post-fight victory speech, “Well, I’ll be here waiting for him!”

However, in the UFC 169 post-fight news conference, the Zuffa fight boss quickly dismissed the possibility of both Lesnar’s return, and the possible rematch with “The Reem.”

“Brock Lesnar is not coming back,” Dana White declared. “Brock Lesnar is not fighting. I mean, does he want to come back? We’ve talked about him wanting to come back, and he feels like he wasn’t 100 percent while he was here. He feels like he sold himself a little short and all the stuff I’ve told you before. But no, he’s not. We have no deal with Brock Lesnar. He’s not coming back anytime soon.”

Bad news for fans hoping to see the now “WWE Star’s” return to the UFC’s octagon. The news delivered by the UFC President didn’t seem to bother Overeem, who went on to say:

“Every fight in the UFC is interesting to me,” he said. “On that note, for now, it’s holiday time. Then we’re going to sit together with the team, and then we’re going to figure out the next steps.”
