UFN 73 Results: Glover Teixeira Puts OSP To Sleep In The Third

UFC light heavyweights Ovince Saint Preux and Glover Teixeira battled in the night’s main event.

Glover came out and threw the first punch. Preux countered, then Glover went for a takedown and got it. Preux was able to get to his feet right away. Glover at a shot to the groin when they were cliched on the cage. The fight was paused then resumed. Preux lands a massive body kick that drops Glover. Preux rushes in and looks to finish it. Glover gets up and to his feet. OSP tried to tee off on him. OSP got taken down and Glover went right into mount position. OSP gave up his back and Glover looked to lock in the choke. OSP escapes and gets to his feet, but Glover stays on him, pushing him to the cage in the clinch. Glover works hard and gets another takedown. Again he gets mounted by Glover. OSP somehow escapes and gets top position. OSP started looking for Von Flue choke from side control. Glover gets free and back to his feet.

In the second OSP starts things off with another big body kick. Glover started coming forward with punches. Glover goes for a takedown and gets it, but OSP gets right back up. Glover landed a nice body punch. Glover goes in and gets a takedown again, this time picking OSP up and putting him down. Glover worked from half guard, landing elbows and punches. Glover lands big strikes from the top. OSP works to get up, he does, but Glover has him pushed on the cage. At the very end of the round OSP starts throwing big shots.

In the third round they both came out swinging. Eventually Glover got the takedown again and went right back to the ground and pound. Glover gets the mount again. Both men are tired. Glover started landing big elbows and punches from the mount. OSP tries roll. Glover locks in the rear naked choke and forces OSP to go to sleep.

RESULT: Teixeira wins via Submission (RNC) at 3:10 of round 3
