Urijah Faber: “Of Course I Still Want To Fight Dominick”
This Saturday, former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will be returning to the Octagon after a three year long absence. The UFC Cruz is returning to is nothing like the one he left. Since his absence, in the bantamweiht division alone, Renan Barao became champion, defended his belt 3 times, and then lost to TJ Dillashaw, who has defended the belt once.
One thing that hasn’t changed however, is Cruz’s greatest rival, Urijah Faber. Faber spoke with MMAJunkie about the possibility of fighting Cruz once again.
“Of course I still want to fight Dominick. I hope that he comes back and performs well. … I hope it’s a great fight and we’re going to see Dominick leaving off right where (he was when he) got injured. You never know in this sport, but I’m sure that’s a fight that will happen.”
Cruz and Faber first faced off in the WEC back in 2007, with Faber capturing the win by guillotine. In the pair’s second meeting, Cruz won via unanimous decision back in 2011.
Do you want to see the pair go at it for a third time?
