Cain: Jones Super-Fight Still On The Table
UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez currently has his sights set on interim champion Fabricio Werdum for their upcoming bout at UFC 188. Even though Jon Jones has run into some legal trouble, Velasquez still isn’t discounting the possibility of a super fight taking place between the two somewhere down the line.
In a recent interview with ESPN, Velasquez talked about the chances of the super fight eventually taking place. “It was all talk before but yeah, I definitely saw our paths crossing once or twice,” Velasquez said. “I still think it’s a possibility down the road when he comes back. I thought we were only a couple fights away from it, but now I don’t know how many fights away it is. We’ll have to see how it plays out.”
Cain Velasquez has not fought since UFC 166 is October 2013 due to suffering several injuries. He will be making his return to the octagon in Mexico City, Mexico where he meets fellow heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum.
