WATCH! Rafael dos Anjos aspires to be a lightweight legend like BJ Penn

UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is well on his way to cementing himself as a lightweight legend in the sport of MMA. It took dos Anjos just 66 seconds to dispose of the tough and talented Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone on Saturday night at UFC on Fox 17.

Dos Anjos took some time to speak with Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting before his fight this weekend about establishing himself as a legendary fighter in the lightweight division like our own BJ Penn has done.

“I want to be a lightweight legend like B.J. Penn,” dos Anjos said. “I want to be a name like yours.”

With some interesting lightweight title fights to potentially make after UFC 194 and UFC on Fox 17, dos Anjos can look to add some big names to his resume. By finding more success in his future bouts, the current lightweight champion will lay more foundation to his dreams of becoming a lightweight legend like the UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn.
