White Proud of UFC 187, ‘This Is the Type of Card Fans Want to See’
After months of news breaking that a fighter has been pulled from the card because of either legal troubles or injuries, UFC 187 took place and was amazing despite all the facelifts it received.
UFC President Dana White reflected on the card backstage after the show and was happy he could brag about how exciting this fight card turned out to be.
“It was a great card tonight, obviously, tons of great fights,” he told Megan Olivi in a backstage interview.
The night was capped off with an amazing display of dominance from UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman against Vitor Belfort. Daniel Cormier won the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and Donald Cerrone racked up his eighth octagon win in a row.
“These guys put on incredible performances. This is what people pay for, whether it’s the tickets or on pay-per-view. This is what people want to see. They did it, came out and performed. This was the good fight card for May— I wouldn’t say it was the big one, but it was the good one.”
