White: Rashad Evans vs. Daniel Cormier Will Co-Main Event UFC 170
BJPENN.COM reported earlier this month that Rashad Evans and Daniel Cormier would finally be meeting in the octagon at UFC 170.
UFC President Dana White just confirmed at the UFC 168 Post-Fight Press Conference that it will co-main event the pay-per-view.
Cormier’s upcoming bout against Rashad Evans will be his first time stepping into the octagon as a light heavyweight. Though his intentions were always to fight at that weight, he wanted to get used to the mannerisms of being a mixed martial artist before he had to start cutting weight. Now that he signed a new eight fight contract with the UFC, he is officially ready to start bigger and better things.
His eyes are set on the gold and Rashad Evans is in his way.
Rashad Evans is riding a wave of momentum after defeating two fan favorites in a row. He defeated Dan Henderson by way of decision and went on to dominate Chael Sonnen in a fight that didn’t even leave the first round.
Daniel Cormier has one hell of a challenge in front of him.
Dana White also recently confirmed that the event will be headlined by Ronda Rousey and Sara McMann in a five-round bout for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship.
