With Jason High Injured, Charlie Brenneman Set to Fight Beneil Dariush at UFC Fight Night 35
Jason High displayed brilliance in the octagon during his victory against Anthony Lapsley at UFC 167 and walked out of the octagon virtually unscathed. High quickly signed the dotted line for another fight and was set to face Adlan Amagov at UFC Fight Night 35. However, Amagov was forced to pull out of the bout after suffering an injury and High was set to face replacement Beneil Dariush.
The injury bug struck once again and this time Jason High withdrew from the bout after suffering a ruptured appendix. Joe Silva has once again found another replacement for the fight and it seems like we have our final lineup for this match, knock on wood.
It looks like Charlie Brenneman will be stepping in for Jason High to face Beneil Dariush in a welterweight bout on January 15th at UFC Fight Night 35. “The Spaniard” is taking the fight on thirteen days notice. Matt Erickson of MMAJunkie is reporting that the bout is all but confirmed.
After getting finished in consecutive bouts, Brenneman was cut by the UFC just over a year ago. “The Spaniard” opted to keep busy and quickly found work outside the octagon. Since getting cut by the UFC he is riding a four-fight win streak, finishing three of those opponents.
