With Win Over Faber, Renan Barao Tops White’s P4P List
With Anderson Silva and GSP out of the mix there aren’t many UFC fighters deserving of the pound-for-pound accolade.
Jon Jones and Cain Velasquez come to mind as suitable replacements, but the UFC boss is leaning towards his bantamweight champion, Renan Barao.
Outside of his professional debut, Barao hasn’t lost a bout in 32 straight contests and one can see why his long-standing streak would start to garner notice.
“If Barao goes out and stops Faber, he’s probably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world,” said UFC President Dana White.
Renan Barao will defend his bantamweight title at UFC 169 against Urijah Faber. The two will serve as the evenings main event on pay-per-view.
