Woodley Will Give Weight Loss Penalty Back to Gastelum

Kelvin Gastelum was nearly ten pounds overweight going in to his bout with Tyron Woodley at “UFC 183” in Las Vegas. Gastelum was penalized with a 30% deduction in his fight purse. Woodley would be rewarded with that 30% by the commission for the inconvenience.

Tyron Woodley stated right after his victory on Saturday night that there was no way he would be taking that extra money. Woodley expressed how difficult like is sometimes and there were moments in his life where he was crying on the table because he was struggling to pay bills.

Woodley’s answer remained the same in the post fight press conference. When asked what he would do with the money, Woodley confirmed that he was going to give the money back to Gastelum.
