Khabib Nurmagomedov was as upset as anybody else when he learned he was being forced to pull out of his bout with Donald Cerrone at UFC 187. Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought since April 2014 and he is itching for an octagon return.

“Fans sometimes talk crazy, but it’s OK,” Nurmagomedov told “MMA Hour“. “I understand fans are a little bit upset, I’m upset too. I’m not happy. One year, I [don’t] fight. This is not good news for me, not good news for fans. I understand this.”

Nurmagomedov is confident that if you want to be successful in the world of mixed martial arts, you have to train as hard as you want to win. This backs up his training camp’s training style at American Kickboxing Academy, a camp that Dana White accused of being in the “stone age”.

“If you want to win, you need to go crazy,” Nurmagomedov explained. “MMA every day is a high level, you need to be training hard, to push yourself. MMA all the time has injuries. Next time, I think I train a little bit more smart.”

Who would you like to see Nurmagomedov fight upon his octagon return?
