YOU’RE FIRED! Joseph Benavidez Dumps Manager Because Of Reebok Deal
Team Alpha Male Fighter Joseph Benavidez has parted ways with his management team, MMA Inc.
The UFC flyweight spoke to the media about the decision and said that he thinks a lot more fighters will be going in this direction thanks to the Reebok deal.
“I felt like I could do it myself, and at this point in my career, save some money. I think managers are definitely gonna have to change their business model a little bit. For one, they’re gonna have to step up outside [the cage]. It’s not going to be as easy as, ‘Hey, be on the banner and pay us money,’ because that’s easy to do.”
MMA Inc., manages several other fighters from Team Alpha Male, including Urijah Faber and Page VanZant. Benavidez believes that managers are going to have to get creative when it comes the new UFC/Reebok deal, if they want to stay relevant.
“It’s gonna put managers to work. They’re gonna have to put that much more effort in actually attacking sponsors if they want to keep a job in this industry.”
Think Benavidez made the right decision?
