Fighters spend many hours in the gym preparing for their contests. For some, the preparation pays off with a lightning quick win while their opponents face the misery of getting defeated in a matter of seconds. In this video, we take a look at the boxing match between Miguel Carrizoza and Ryan Garcia for the vacant NABF Junior Super Featherweight Title. The two met in September where Garcia won the fight in less than a minute after dropping Carrizoza twice in a matter of seconds with the referee calling an end to the fight at 30 seconds of the very first round.

We’ve seen the amazing movement from the high-level pound-for-pound boxer Vasyl Lomachenko. Many fans relate Lomachenko and his evasive footwork like something out of the Matrix. Here, we take a look at another rising star in the sport of boxing that many fans are also geeking out over with his insane performances in the ring. 23-year-old UK boxer Josh Kelly is an orthodox boxer fighting at welterweight. Kelly is a 2016 Olympic boxer and made his professional debut in April of this year. Kelly has already racked up a 4-0 pro record in six months. With one knockout, two wins by TKO and one decision under his belt, boxing could have something special on their hands here.

Boxing trainer Robert Garcia has had a lot of different athletes from different sports coming through his gym recently. We saw former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo make his way to California to get some boxing training done under Garcia. Aldo impressed the world champion boxing trainer and did some rounds with Olympic boxers and world champion Mikey Garcia, who is Robert’s younger brother.

There is a great amount of respect in martial arts and although the trash talk and hype for promotion is surely a big part of mixed martial arts today, there is still a ton of respect and great sportsmanship in MMA. We get a good look at some values seen in this video here from the Russian promotion Fight Nights Global. Opponents Abdul Khalid Davlyatov and Ilnur Samigullin met in the cage back in April of last year where Davlyatov knocked Samigullin out with a devastating overhand right. Davlyatov saw that he had knocked Samigullin out cold and didn’t follow up with any more punches and then starting trying to bring his opponent back to consciousness.

As a black belt in numerous martial arts, Norris was awarded a third-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Jean Jacques Machado and David Dunn in 2015. In this video from MMA Nation, we take a walk back in time as Norris explains the first time he tried jiu-jitsu while on vacation in Rio de Janeiro. Norris kept hearing about “Gracie jiu-jitsu” from all the martial arts schools that he dropped in for training and had his first taste of the martial art with the Gracie family.

When you are a three-time world jiu-jitsu champion and an Abu-Dhabi world champion, you have checked off more than what most can dream of in the grappling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu communities. That is just what UFC fighter Rani Yahya has under resume and returned to BJJ competition at the Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championships in Rio over the weekend. Yahya proved that his time focused on MMA and away from BJJ competition was still at a very high level, making his way to the finals in the lightweight division. However, when Yahya faced Thiago “Baiano” Abreu in the final, Abreu proved his superiority in this grappling exchange taking less than a minute to put Yahya to sleep with a tight guillotine choke.

Taking some damage when competing in combat sports simply comes as part of the game. However, there are some injuries that end up being much worse than others. In this video, we take a look at a kickboxing match between Current Glory kickboxer Mourad Bouzidi and Rustemi Kreshnik. The two met for a rematch with Bouzidi winning their first fight by TKO after Kreshnik suffered a very bad cut. In the rematch at the It’s Showtime 57 & 58 event, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, Bouzidi ended up winning again after crushing Kreshnik’s nose with a brutal knee. The event took place back in 2012 but an insane ending like this is timeless.
