VIDEO | Fabricio Werdum and Wanderlei Silva’s intense sparring session
You have probably heard of the gym wars that went down in the infamous Chute Boxe camp when Wanderlei Silva and Shogun Rua were putting on their memorable fights in PRIDE. The stories of their aggressive training and sparring sessions reflected in the PRIDE ring.
Here, we take a look at this video from the past of Silva heading over to Kings MMA to spar with Fabricio Werdum who was known more for his ground game at the time but being a heavyweight, was obviously much bigger than Silva. The two go hard during their sparring session, not holding anything back but show their respect to each other once the round is over.
Werdum is set to settle the score with Alistair Overeem at UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two hold a win each over one another with previously fighting in PRIDE and Strikeforce.
Silva is scheduled to face Chael Sonnen in their grudge match at Bellator 180 on June 24. The two will finally get their chance to fight after their rivalry as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 and their suspensions for banned substances over.
