Kicking techniques tend to be some of the most devastating techniques in combat sports when they land. It’s no secret that a kick is thrown with much more force than a punch given the muscles involved, and that often leads to devastating knockouts.
In one video from Cage Warriors 74 in 2014, Nathaniel Wood picked up a horrific verbal submission win when his opponent snapped his arm with a vicious kick.
The finish is certainly a graphic one, with Steve McCombe’s forearm sustaining a horrific injury in the fiasco which is even moreso gruesome than when Chuck Liddell broke Rich Franklin’s forearm in his retirement fight many years ago. In that fight however, Franklin had his arm broken by Liddell, before he then used the same arm to knock ‘The Iceman’ out cold to win the fight.
Unfortunately for Steve McCombe, he wasn’t able to pull off the same move as Franklin.
