VIDEO | Jose Aldo’s MMA instincts kick in as he throws Mexican Olympian sparring partner to the floor

Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has been busy polishing his boxing skills with world champion boxing trainer Robert Garcia.

We’ve seen Aldo spar with Mexican Olympian boxer Lindolfo Delgado and WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia. Aldo has been impressing the guys in the gym with his skill and power.

Here, we see Aldo doing some boxing sparring with 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Misael Rodriguez. When things got close in the clinch, Aldo’s MMA instincts kicked in for a second as he threw Rodriguez to the canvas. Everyone in the gym reacted with laughter and excitement. Even Rodriguez couldn’t help but to smile and laugh as Aldo apologized and hugged Rodriguez. The two got back to finishing their sparring round and hugged it out once again.

Aldo’s head coach Andre Pederneiras stated recently that Aldo is looking to fight out his UFC contract as fast as he can pursue a dream of competing in professional boxing.
