Former UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard has hit a bit of a rough patch in recent years. After being released from the UFC in 2014, Guillard signed with WSOF, where he picked up a TKO win over Gesais Cavalcante. Unfortunately for Guillard, the win in 2014 over Cavalcante remains his most recent loss to date three years later. Guillard lost his next fight against Justin Gaethje after missing weight, before then dropping two more fights under the Bellator MMA banner. Nearly a year ago, Guillard was able to snap his 3-fight skid when he picked up a KO win over David Rickels. With that being said however, the win was overturned to a ‘No contest’ after Guillard tested positive for a banned substance. Following that, Guillard returned to the Bellator MMA cage in early 2017, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Chidi Njokuani.
During a fight in China this week under the KunLunFight banner, Guillard was handed a vicious KO loss.
