VIDEO | Russian special forces ’12 minutes of hell’ test

Spetsnaz

Throughout the course of MMA history, Russia has continued to produce some of the most feared fighters on the planet. When Fedor Emelianenko burst onto the MMA scene and took the Pride FC heavyweight division by storm, he not only cemented his place in MMA history as one of the most dominant fighters ever, but also put Russian Sambo on the map as one of the most useful martial arts in MMA.

Currently, UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov is somewhat of an icon in Russia, as evident by the chaos that took place when ‘The Eagle’ appeared at a Reebok meet & greet, which ultimately forced the event to be shut down.

In the video above, you can see Russian Special Forces soldiers in the final stage of their testing to become Spetsnaz soldiers. The final stage consists of four 3-minute rounds with various opponents, who all appear to possess some rather extensive MMA training in addition to being Spetsnaz soldiers themselves.

Check out the brutal video above, complete with opponents who appear to have various styles.
